Changing or leaving your course
If you are considering changing or leaving your course, you can come to discuss the decision with a careers adviser. We can help you think through the implications for your career of such a change. However, if you have academic issues you'll need to talk with your personal tutor, academic counsellor or other departmental representative about these. You can also approach the Advice Centre in KCLSU or the College's welfare advisers or counsellors, particularly if you have financial or personal problems prompting your change.
At the Careers Service we can offer you:
- A chance to talk over the career issues.
- A booklet on Changing or leaving your course.
- Directories and other information to identify alternative courses.
- Information about gap year options if you're thinking about a break.
- Work experience and placement vacancies.
You may also wish to look at our pages in the section on First Steps. These are useful for identifying career options and to reflect on why you are planning a change of course. You are very welcome to come and talk to a careers adviser at a Quick Query session.

The page on Leaving your course at the Prospects website has information on the implications of a change as well as some suggestions for looking at why you want to change or leave; how to make the most of the course; and alternatives to actually leaving. This is a very useful starting point with lots on information on a range of factors you will want to consider.
