Modern Foreign Languages

If you are studying modern foreign languages and are trying to make decisions about your future career the Careers Service can help.

What to do?

Throughout your degree you’ll be considering your options on graduation. One option may be to use your languages and if so in what context and whether in the UK or overseas; another to find out about all the other routes open to you. The bottom line is that you will be a King’s graduate with options. The destinations information below gives you some idea of previous graduates’ choices.

How we can help

Drop and see us to for a quick query of 15 minutes to work out what your starting point is and how we can help.

For many people our practical help around improving a cv, practising interview skills and considering further study is a must.

Events and jobs

Make the most of our events programme to check out some of the options you are considering and find out about some alternatives. A full programme is offered including a Forum on Translation and Interpreting.

JobOnline International JobOnline – use both these King’s job listing sites together to find out about what’s happening who is recruiting. A few recent examples give a flavour: writing for a PR company in Tokyo as a graduate, working for the AA in administration in France over the summer, editorial positions using languages or joining a graduate scheme in the UK. International Job Online helps you to look at more overseas options than Job Online alone.
