LGBT Staff Network

LGBT Staff Survey

The LGBT Staff Survey was developed by the LGBT Staff Network Steering Group and the Equality and Diversity Unit to give LGBT staff the opportunity to feed in to the development of the Network and to support the College to start to prepare for the incoming Single Equality Duty – which will introduce extra responsibilities in respect of sexual orientation.

The Survey was made available on-line from 11 August to 12 September 2008 and was promoted to staff across the College using the following mechanisms:

  • Email to the LGBT Staff Network circulation list with publicity poster attached
  • Posters plus memo sent to all campuses for display on noticeboards
  • Email to the E&D forum with poster attached
  • E-zine article and information on the staff intranet
  • Information on the E&D homepage
  • Information on the plasma screens

The survey received 63 responses. The results were collated and analysed and the findings and recommendations presented to the LGBT Staff Network Steering Group for discussion. The Steering Group met twice to discuss the report and their recommendations will inform the Network’s programme of activity over the coming year.
