About Academic Quality

The College has a responsibility to manage the quality of its programmes and awards. The Quality and Academic Support (QAS) department on behalf of the College manages quality assurance matters both in respect of College procedures and in liaison with external bodies such as the Higher Education Funding Council (HEFCE) and the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA). This includes externally directed activities such as support for the QAA Higher Education Review process, as well as College activities such as  programme approval and review, and assessment policy.

College regulatory committee structure

The Academic Board and its sub-structure including the College Education Committee, College Assessment and Standards Committee and many of their Forums and subcommittees are responsible for a broad range of regulations, policies, procedures and strategic documents which are available via the College’s Policy Zone

Faculties regulatory structure

There are core governance functions for Faculties in the broad area of teaching and learning. Faculties operationalise these through their committee structures, some of which are based on the College's governance structure.
