Mission and strategy

King's brand

Our brand is a vital expression of everything we do, providing distinctiveness in an increasingly competitive global higher education market. It supports our business and it is essential that it is cherished, protected and promoted. Brand consistency and quality control is critical to our reputation and the Corporate Design Unit is responsible for maintaining these standards across all visual and editorial branding.

Commissioning creative services

External professional designers must be engaged to carry out creative work for the College. Corporate Design manages a select list of fully briefed designers and will advise on choosing the most suitable for any project, or on selecting any possible new supplier. The Head of Corporate Design must be aware of all proposed use of King's corporate visual branding and must have sight of all projects via pdf before they approach sign-off so that appropriate advice may be given. Please contact design@kcl.ac.uk with all queries, large or small.

Brand toolkit

The brand toolkit of guidelines, templates, logos, coats of arms, fonts, imagery and maps is managed by Corporate Design. This resource and guidance on how to use it is available to King’s staff on the internal web pages. External requests may be made to design@kcl.ac.uk
