Department of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies
The Department of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies (SPLAS) is devoted to the study of the history, language and culture of Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries. It offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, which include Portuguese language courses from beginners to advanced level.
The Department is also accredited by the Brazilian Ministry of Education to offer the Certificate of Proficiency in Portuguese for Foreigners (Celpe-Bras) examination in the United Kingdom. Please see here for further details.

The Modern Language Centre at King's offers students, staff and members of the public a range of opportunities to learn Brazilian Portuguese:
Brazilian Portuguese for students on the MA Brazil in Global Perspective
Students on the MA Brazil in Global Perspective who have a grasp of Portuguese but would like to further their Brazilian Portuguese can take 6AALB2F1 Brazilian Portuguese, a course which has been created specifically for students on the MA. Please note that the syllabus will be updated for 2012-13 in due course.

Idiomas International - For over 20 years, It's Cool! has been teaching language courses in São Paulo, and their 'learn Portuguese in São Paulo' programme includes the course itself, accommodation, and a variety of cultural activities in the city.
