HKU Partnership Awards

King’s and the University of Hong Kong (HKU) each offer an annual Partnership Award that enables a member of staff at each university to spend time at the partner institution.

Awards made in 2012/13:

  • Professor Eric So (Haematological Medicine & Cancer Studies) will be working with Professor LC Chan (Department of Pathology at the Li K Shing Faculty of Medicine) to analyse the epigenome of MLL leukaemia in both mouse models and primary patient samples to significantly advance a strategic research area and expedite the speed of translating his critical research findings into patent’s benefits.
  • Dr Chin-Kuo Chang (Health Service and Population Research Department, Institute of Psychiatry) will be working with Professor Paul Yip (Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention, Department of Social Work and Social Administration) to foster collaborations for suicide research and prevention amongst people with serious mental illness.
  • Dr Natalie Gold (Department of Philosophy) will be working with Dr David McCarthy (Department of Philosophy, HKU) on shared research interests in the Expected Utility Theory model of rational choice, deviations from that model and their implications for philosophy.
