Byron and politics: 'born for opposition'
This special exhibition will be held in the Weston Room of King’s Maughan Library in Chancery Lane from 24 June to 25 September. It will be open to the public, with free admission and catalogue. Further details of how to obtain tickets will be posted later.
On show will be over 50 manuscripts, printed books and memorabilia from the National Library of Scotland (John Murray Archive) and the Foyle Special Collections Library of King’s College London, together with privately-loaned objects such as the ‘Waterloo spoils’ of soldiers’ badges and other objects which Byron collected on the battlefield, and his beautiful but deadly sword-stick, which he used to defend himself in Italy and Greece.
Booking details and further information is now available on the Maughan Library Exhibition page.
