Have you ever wondered what Ph.D. students in the Arts and Humanities actually do – and why anyone else should care? This is your chance to find out.

X Factor has collided with A History of the World in 100 Objects and the result is 10/12 researchers in search of an audience, determined to prove that their work is not only fascinating but can change your view and ways of seeing and thinking about different objects and ideas. They have been put through their paces on a training programme carefully designed to prepare them to make their case in just five minutes before a non-specialist audience, and now it’s the moment of truth. Is literature more important than history? Can art or music conquer all? With a prize at stake, it’s for you the audience to decide. Your votes will decide which winner is about to take all.
