The course is intended for students with some exposure to Modern Greek, building on skill acquired in 4AABL01A Modern Greek Language IA. Introduction to the target language is mainly based on a series of communicative activities which involve pair- and group-work and aim at developing basic interactive skills. At the end of the course, students are expected to possess oral and written competence in basic uses of Modern Greek.
A functional and task-based syllabus motivates the choice and presentation of grammatical forms and vocabulary. Situations to be covered include social introductions, friendly chats, basic exchanges in service encounters, informal letter-writing, etc.
