Classics at King's

Our subject is the ancient Mediterranean world as a whole, with special reference to Greek and Roman culture, and its influence and reception from Late Antiquity to the present day. Our teaching and research extend over Greek and Latin language and literature from Homer to Apuleius and St Augustine; Greek, Roman and Near Eastern history, art and archaeology from the Bronze Age to the Byzantine period; Greek and Roman thought from the Presocratics to the Middle Platonists; epigraphy, papyrology and manuscript studies; medieval and Renaissance Latin and Byzantine Greek; and the history of the Classical tradition in textual scholarship, art, literature, film and popular culture.

The left-hand links indicate some of the subject areas we are particularly interested in, and by clicking on these you can see a list of experts in that field of research and teaching.
