Collaborations & partnerships

We maintain excellent links with organisations across the College, nationally and globally, including with the Univeristy of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

UK collaborations & partnerships include

  • Department of Digital Humanities at King's - We collaborate with the Department of Digital Humanities on a new research programme, the PhD in Digital Classical Studies. The Department of Digital Humanities also supports a number of research projects undertaken in the Department of Classics, and runs many projects that are related to Classical art and archaeology. The Visualisation Laboratory, for example, has conducted many projects that explore the potential of digital modelling, see for exampleTheatre of Pompey and Theatricalism in the Roman House (Skenographia). 
  • Institute of Classical Studies - Several members of staff in the Department of Classics convene research seminars at the Institute of Classical Studies, including Ancient History, Topics in Greek Literature and Topics in Latin Literature.
  • The Hellenic Society - Several members of staff in the Department of Classics sit on the committees of The Hellenic Society. 
  • The Iris Project - The Department of Classics at King's works closely with the Iris project, providing undergradaute student-teachers to support learning about Latin in inner-city London primary schools.
  • The London Summer School in Classics - Every two years, the Department of Classics at King's hosts The London Summer School in Classics (in collaboration with UCL), providing intensive teaching of Greek and Latin.
  • The Roman Society - Several members of staff in the Department of Classics sit on the committees of The Roman Society.
