Alumni of the Department of Classics

King's Graduation 2008Did you know?

Virginia Woolf was a classical alumna of King's. She took classes in Greek, Latin, History and German, given in the then King's College Department for Ladies, from 1897 to 1902. For part of this time, she was taught by the then Professor of Classical Literature, George Warr, whom she refers to in her correspondence as 'my beloved Warr'.
