Level 7

Level 7 modules available in 2016/7

The modules offered in each academic year are subject to change in line with staff availability and student demand so there is no guarantee every module listed here will run. Module descriptions and information may vary between years.

The following MA programmes are organised on an intercollegiate basis:

  • MA in Ancient History
  • MA in Classics
  • MA in Classical Art & Archaeology
  • MA in Late Antique & Byzantine Studies

Beginner's Latin for Research: UCL History 
Intermediate Latin: Birkbeck History, Classics and Archaeology*
Advanced Latin: RHUL Classics 

*NB: Birkbeck offer evening classes only. Students studying Intermediate Latin  at Birkbeck should register for both SSHC266S7 Intermediate Latin (30 credits) and SSHC349H7 Intermediate Latin II (15 credits) to ensure you have sufficient credit as required.

The Institute of Archaeology at UCL also offers an Introduction to Ancient Egyptian Language and an Introduction to Coptic Language & Culture. Please discuss the suitability of these options with your personal tutor.

Modern Language Centre

MA students have the option of taking a 20-credit language module as part of your degree, which will be taught at the King’s Modern Language Centre (MLC). If taken for credit the 20-credit language module must be taken as part of your overall tariff of 180 credits and will count towards your degree result
