Celebrating Classical Civilisation at King's

Professor Edith Hall will be leading a celebration of the study of the ancient Greek and Roman worlds in the historic Anatomy Theatre at our Strand Campus on Saturday 2 July 2016 for King’s College London Classics staff, students and friends.

Students invited from local schools will enjoy a sit-down lunch in the Great Hall, and will be making a play in a day with current undergraduates. Speakers and entertainers will include BBC broadcaster and novelist Natalie Haynes, poet and playwright Caroline Bird, poet Caleb Femi, and boffins of the Classics and Class research project Professor Edith Hall and Dr Henry Stead.

Students in the King's College London Department of Classics have just returned from a magical week in Greece – fully funded by the department's Jamie Rumble Memorial Fund. This year saw the largest trip in the Rumble Fund's history, with thirty BA and MA students setting off to Athens, Piraeus and Delphi as part of their module on the 'Classical Art of the Body: Greek Sculpture and its Legacy'.

Rumble Fund Trip 2015-16

Description
The 2015-16 academic year saw the Department's first Rumble Trip to Italy: from 13 to 17 December 2015 a group of some 20 students departed for a jam-packed tour of Rome. As with all departmental Rumble Trips, the full costs of this trip were covered by the Jamie Rumble Memorial Fund.
