Eleanor
BA Classical Studies
London is one of the most vibrant and exciting cities in the world and I always intended to study here. For me, there was no other option than to study at King's, where the reputation of the Classics department is so highly regarded.
Before starting the course I was a bit anxious about studying an ancient language, but despite my initial worries, studying Greek has turned out to be one of the achievements that I am most proud of. I was supported throughout the whole of my first year and would not have risen to the challenge without the guidance of the teaching staff in the Classics department.
As well as studying at King's, there are a variety of clubs and societies to get involved with. I am a keen Lacrosse player, and despite my previous experience on the field, the team welcomes players of any level. This year I am also helping to choreograph the KCL Charity Fashion Show, which has been a refreshing change from my academic studies and a great way of meeting new people.
I am based at the Strand Campus, which is a busy and multi-cultural campus. It overlooks many of London's main attractions, and with Waterloo station only a few minutes walk away, travel is never a problem. The stunning view from the Students' Union is one of many attractive features of the Strand Campus. Studying at King's has been both a challenging and enjoyable experience. I have made friends and memories that will span a lifetime.
