Internship Hosts

Internship hosts

Students of MA Cultural and Creative Industries can chose to undertake an internship in a cultural or creative organisation, complementing the academic learning of the taught modules and the dissertation.

Previous internship hosts have included Tate Modern, the bfi, the Royal Opera House and a range of organisations in the visual and performing arts, the media, local government and creative industries development agencies. (A full list can be downloaded below.) Staff of MA Cultural and Creative Industries assist students in finding an appropriate internship, and each year a significant number of internships are arranged exclusively for students of the course.

Here is a sample of feedback from an internship host (received in summer 2010):

"Meizhong is the fourth intern that we have recruited through the MA CCI internship programme. They have all been hard-working and committed and have produced high-quality work. The communication with King’s College staff has been really supportive and we appreciated the visit to our office. The Networking event was also valuable. I met a couple of industry contacts who I have stayed in touch about working together."

If you represent a cultural organisation that may be interested in offering internships, please see the document Information for Host Organisations, which can be downloaded via the link below. We would be happy to hear from you at internships@kcl.ac.uk

The Internships Office will work with the Culture, Media and Creative Industries department to develop a number of partnerships with host organisations who could offer internships to students. Whilst every effort will be made to source internships for students, it is the ultimate responsibility of the student to find and complete an appropriate internship, and to fulfil the requirements of the internship module assessment, in order to gain the credits required for the module.
