Message from MA CCI Admissions Tutor
Dear prospective applicants
Thanks for visiting our website. This section is for those who are preparing to apply to MA Cultural and Creative Industries programme.
MA CCI is the largest and most prestigious programme of its kind. Our approach is interdisciplinary: we investigate production, consumption and governance of the arts and culture from the perspective of cultural history, management, cultural policy and cultural labour. We are also keen to analyse cultural texts, from the arts in the traditional sense to media representation of cultural identities.
Meanwhile, it is important to know that we are not a media, communications or journalism studies programme. If you wish to follow a career in these areas, MA CCI will only be relevant in so far as your interests relate specifically to the cultural and creative industries (e.g. performing and visual arts, cultural heritage, film and music).
When you apply, please make sure that your personal statement is succinct (no more than 500 words) and clearly states why you are applying. Please do not write a biography of yourself: this is not an effective way to introduce yourself to me. The best personal statement is the one which demonstrates your understanding of cultural and creative industries and explains what you want to achieve by studying on the programme in three or four paragraphs.
I hope this is helpful. Best luck to all.
Dr Hye-Kyung Lee
