Interdisciplinary Conference: Relgious Melancholy, 19 - 20 May 2011
This conference will be the first of its kind. The term ‘religious melancholy’ was coined by Burton in 1621 in Anatomy of Melancholy. But acute sadness had long since been recognised as a common, even a necessary component of profound spiritual experience. A full programme is available on the Arts & Humanities School pages.
New MA Programmes
Two new MA degree programmes, MA in German and Comparative Literature and MRes in German and Comparative Literature, welcomed their first intake of students in September 2010. Both programmes are designed for students who wish to study German literature within a broader international context. For further information please contact Professor Robert Weninger.
New Exchange Programme
We are delighted to announce a new exchange programme for undergraduate students between King’s Comparative Literature programme and the University of Bologna, one of the most ancient and prestigious institutions in Europe.
Starting from September 2010, students will have the opportunity to study for two semesters in Bologna, in the framework of the Erasmus Programme of the European Union.
