Students on the BA Comparative Literature can apply to study for the first semester of their final year at the oldest university in Europe, the University of Bologna or at the oldest public university in the US, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Bologna is the oldest and one of the largest and most prestigious universities in Europe. Notable alumni include Petrarch, Copernicus, Albrecht Dürer, and Pier Paolo Pasolini.
King’s students can choose modules in Classics, Comparative Literature, Italian, Art History, Film Studies, and Modern Languages (including Arabic, Chinese, Russian, and the languages of India).

UNC-Chapel Hill, in the top echelon among America’s research universities, has a large and diverse Department of English & Comparative Literature alongside many other language and literature offerings in other departments, including Russian, Japanese, and Arabic. Its notable literary alumni include the novelists Thomas Wolfe and Walker Percy and poets Donald Justice and Laurence Ferlinghetti.
