Description
PechaKucha

Digital media are daily transforming all aspects of our life. Arts and humanities scholarship is no exception, and the Department of Digital Humanities has been for many years a pioneer in creating new resources and methods creating innovative scholarship in many different arts and humanities disciplines. Staff and students from the Department will introduce different aspect of the digital humanities using the lively ‘Pecha Kucha’ format, which was developed by young designers in Tokyo as a fun way of presenting their work. ‘Pecha Kucha’ is Japanese for ‘chit chat’, and the presentation format is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds. The strict 20x20 format keeps things moving at a rapid pace and creates a lively event. It is a perfect way of exploring the variety and range of work in the digital humanities.

There will be twelve pecha kucha style presentations by staff and students from the Department of Digital Humanities. The event is being co-ordinated by Professor Andrew Prescott, Professor of Digital Humanities, who has been involved in many leading digitization projects in Britain, America and Europe.
