8-10 May Media Research Summit - Banff Centre
Dr Frederik Lesage has been invited to contribute to the Banff Centre's Media Research Summit organised by the Centre's Film and Media programme taking place from the 8 to 10 May 2011. The Summit has drawn experts from across the world in order to discuss the nature and impact of the most uncertain and important driving forces affecting the world of digital media. Together, the Summit's contributors will help to develop the Centre's strategy to address these changes in the coming decade and explore new ways of approaching entertainment, education, and storytelling on digital platforms.

12 - 13 May Platform Politics - Cambridge
Dr Tim Jordan is keynote speech explores the nature of platforms as politics in relation to Google, secure information network TOR, OpenLeaks and other elements of a politics of platforms.
Wired recently announced the 'death' of the Web, based on the premise that platforms are becoming the primary mode of access for the Internet. The Platform Politics conference will ask whether this is true, and what this means for network politics.
