Mr Tuomo Toljamo is an Early Stage Researcher, a Marie Curie Fellow in the Digital Scholarly Editions Initial Training Network (DiXiT; funded under Marie Curie Actions within European Commission's 7th Framework Programme, Grant Agreement no. 317436), and a PhD student.

He is currently working within the context of document-centric editing in investigating the impact of the availability of high quality digital facsimiles and computational opportunities they might lend themselves to. Such opportunities could include, for example, utilisation of image processing and text-based techniques to tease out signals of the implicit encoding from document pages for use in automatically recognising logical elements within texts.

He has an MA in English Philology and an MSc in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Oulu, Finland. His research interests include digital humanities, digital documentary editing, and computational analyses.
