Biography
Francesca Tomasi is Assistant Professor in the Department of Classical Philology and Italian Studies at the University of Bologna. She began her university education with a degree in Preservation of Cultural Heritage in 1997 at the University of Bologna. From there she undertook postgraduate studies in archiving at the State Archive of Modena and a specialization in Computer Science at the University of Bologna.
In 2003 she achieved her doctorate from the University of Bologna, with a digitised collection of 15th century letters by Vespasiano da Bisticci, a Florentine librarian who devoted himself to the copy of latin manuscripts.
Francesca has published widely in her areas of research interest and has given a number of papers at international conferences. She is a member of the CIBID group, which is defining the standards of digital libraries in Italy, as well as the Website Commission and E-learning Commission of the University of Bologna.
