Graduate destinations

Since our first group of students graduated in 1996 it has become clear that European & International Studies at King's provides an ideal grounding for students wishing to follow a career in politics, diplomacy, European administration, or journalism.
Graduates have so far taken up posts with the Foreign Office, with leading financial institutions or with lobbying firms at the European Commission. Others have worked in public and private agencies in the United Kingdom, as well as further afield in countries ranging from Bosnia to Japan.
Many students have undertaken work placements in the media, working for the French newspaper Libération, the Franco-German TV station Arte and for Radio-France International. Some have gained experience working with MPs or MEPs.
Most students go on to pursue further research interests. Former students on the programme are currently studying at the College of Europe, Johns Hopkins University and the Fletcher School of Diplomacy. Others have taken up postgraduate studies at Oxford, LSE and Berkeley. Graduates are also able to enrol on our own Masters programmes: MA in European Studies, MA in European Political Publicy and the new MA in International Political Economy.
