Most of the Department of European & International Studies core staff were ranked in departments that are amongst the top four departments in the country as measured by the ‘world class’ and ‘internationally excellent’ quality of their research in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise. European Studies derives further strength from its close association with the departments of History and War Studies, both of which have consistently ranked as leading departments for their research and teaching.
Dr Alex Clarkson and Dr Daniela Tepe are involved in two different collaborative research projects with the Centre of British Studies at the Humboldt University Berlin. Dr Christoph Meyer is involved in the European Research Council funded project Foresight.
