MA Film Studies (Film and Philosophy Pathway)

Launching in September 2012, the Film and Philosophy pathway of the renowned MA Film Studies at King’s College London will be the first of its kind, and unique in that it is entirely based in the Film Studies Department.

Increasing interest in philosophical approaches to the study of film and new media has produced a vital new field of critical inquiry and research. With its ongoing expansion, the Film Studies Department at King’s offers a unique environment for the research and teaching of film and philosophy.

Benefits of this degree:
• clearly defines the study of film and philosophy as a subfield of film studies
• the experience of being part of a larger postgraduate cohort that brings the MA Film Studies
and MA Film Studies (Film and Philosophy pathway) together through shared modules,
a graduate work-in-progress conference, and a visiting speaker seminar series
• the flexibility to choose from a wide range of optional film studies modules

For more information and details on modules, entry requirements and how to apply, please contact the PGT Convenor (MA Film Studies) Dr Mark Betz. Email: Mark.betz@kcl.ac.uk
