Schofield, Dr Benedict

Teaching

Ben Schofield currently teaches at BA and MA levels in the German Department and on the Comparative Literature Programme. His teaching spans the period 1750-present, with particular emphases on 19th and 20th Century literature, history and philosophy, and post-1989 film, culture and politics. He currently runs the following courses: “German Reunification: Culture and Politics” (Level 6); “Realist Fiction: Politics and Aesthetics” (Level 5); “History into Literature” (Level 5); “Forms of Shorter Narrative” (Level 4); and contributes 19th, 20th and 21st century modules to “Texts and Contexts” (Level 4) and 19th century modules to “Comparative Readings” and “German Realism” (MA Level). He has also guest lectured at Cambridge, Stanford and Sheffield.
