Language teaching partnerships
Lectors
Our department has long-established strong links with the German Academic Exchange Service and the Austrian Cooperation, both of which support German language learning; the study of German and Austrian Culture; and promote student and staff exchange between the UK, Germany and Austria. We are provided with a lector – a specialist in the German language and teaching methodology – by each of these organizations each year, who become integral members of our teaching staff and provide much of your language teaching.
Language interns
Each year, we also recruit a number of language interns from the most prestigious universities in Germany. These postgraduate students, specialists in the subject “German as a Foreign Language”, provide essential one-on-one language support to all undergraduates in the German Department.
