History alumnus appointed Dean of Truro

Venerable Roger Bush, King's College Department of History alumnus and current Archdeacon of Cornwall, has been approved by the Queen as the new Dean of Truro. He will be installed in a special ceremony in September. Archdeacon Bush studied first at King’s College, London and then at Leeds University. He trained for the ministry at the College of the Resurrection at Mirfield. He served his title at Newbold with Dunston in the diocese of Derby from 1986 to 1990. From 1990 to 1994 he was Team Vicar at Leicester Resurrection in the diocese of Derby. From 1994 to 2004 he was Team Rector at Redruth with Lanner and Treleigh in the diocese of Truro and from 1994 to 2004 he was Rural Dean of Carnmarth North to 1996 to 2003. From 2004 to 2005 he was a Residentiary Canon of Truro Cathedral. He has been since 2006 Archdeacon of Cornwall and a Chapter Canon of Truro Cathedral.
