Portuguese
The Department of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies is exclusively devoted to studying the Lusophone world and offers an unrivalled choice of modules in literature, cultural history and history and the opportunity to gain a high level of linguistic proficiency. Students majoring in Portuguese will have the opportunity to study abroad and immerse themselves in culture and society and achieve language fluency.
Requirements
In order to major in Portuguese students must have taken Shifting Perspectives and Portuguese Language for Liberal Arts I in year 1. Please note that the prerequisite for the language module is an A at A-level in Portuguese or equivalent.
In year 2, students must take 5AAPLIB2 Portuguese Language for Liberal Arts II and in year 3 students must take Core Portuguese (Advanced).
