Our Arabic courses will take you to a useful level of communicative ability, and introduce cultural norms and social tips that you will find useful both in the UK and when travelling in ‘the Arab world’.

Arabic Resources Catalogue
The PDF file contains all resources for Arabic that can be found in the Language Resources Centre. It is divided into 3 categories:

  • Book
  • Audio CD/DVD
  • Films/TV

In the 'Notes' column you will find details of, for example, CDs that accompany textbooks and vice versa. Other information had been included throughout the catalogue to help identify a specific item if viewing these off-site.

This is a very useful website for absolute beginners. It contains units on the alphabet, pronunciation, Arabic World, numbers, days of the week, calendar, weather, directions, descriptions, transportation, food and drinks, seasons, etc.

This website contains useful listening material on family, holidays, women, introductions, weather, history, culture, countries, etc.

This is a very useful verb conjugator tool for any verb pattern in Arabic.

The Arabic taught on all Assessed Modules and Evening Programme courses is the Modern Standard Arabic (written) and the educated spoken variety (an example of this is the Arabic as spoken on Al-jazeera satellite channel).
