Biography

Dr Ana de Medeiros was awarded a BA in Political Sciences and French from Boston College. In 1986 she studied in Paris at Sciences Po and Middlebury College and received an MA in French.  Upon her return to New England she completed a PhD on the work of Marguerite Yourcenar.  It was during this time that she started lecturing in Boston.  During her studies she also received scholarships which enabled her to spend two years at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris during which she completed a D.E.A on the work of Colette under the supervision of Julia Kristeva. Prior to joining King’s in 2015 as Director of the Modern Language Centre, Ana lectured primarily on the work of contemporary Francophone and Lusophone women authors at several universities in North America and Europe and most recently was Academic Director of the University of Kent, Paris.
