Background

Jenny holds a Bachelors degree in Music from the University of York and a Master’s degree in Ethnomusicology from SOAS with an area focus of South East Asia. She is now studying for a PhD in Music at King’s College London as part of the Musical Transitions project. Jenny also studied music for one semester at the University of Heidelberg during her undergraduate degree, and completed a one-year scholarship programme at the Performing Arts Institute in Solo, Central Java, Indonesia, where she lived for over two years. She has been playing Javanese gamelan for eight years, speaks fluent Indonesian and German and is currently learning Dutch and Jawi script.
