Los Siameses / Siamese Twins by Griselda Gambaro at Theatro Technis
On 2 September (press night 7 September) Siamese Twins, in translation by the Out of the Wings Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Gwen MacKeith, opened at Theatro Technis. The production was the work of the winners of the Out of the Wings Dragons’ Den event, Mara Lockowandt and Jorge Pérez Falconi of Silver Lining Theatre.

Inaugural Lecture - Professor Catherine Boyle
‘But my love still clings to the rocks, the sea and the mountains’. Translating and Performing Voices of Memory. The lecture was followed by the performance of the one-act play, Counterpoint for Two Tired Voices by Chilean dramatist Jorge Díaz.

Spanish Ambassador gives speech at King's
The department were very pleased to welcome HE Sr Carles Casajuna, Ambassador of Spain to King's to speak on the subject of “A New Design for Europe”. The Ambassador was presented by Lord Douro, Chairman of the Council of King’s College London. The lecture and following question & answer session was chaired by Professor Robert Archer.
The department hosted the launch party for 'The Word Tree' by Teolinda Gersão. Translated into English by Margaret Jull Costa. Readings by given by both Teolinda Gersão and Margaret Jull Costa.

The first of four workshops was held in the new space of the Anatomy Theatre and Museum and was a performance of Las Brutas translated into English by Professor Catherine Boyle of the department of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies.
