Biography
Nagore Calvo Mendizabal obtained her PhD in Sociology from Lancaster University. She also completed an MA in Contemporary Sociology at Lancaster University and before that she studied Political and Social Sciences at the University of Deusto, Bilbao. She is a lecturer in European & International Studies and Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies.

Nagore's research interests are in Political Economy, Spanish and Basque studies. Her current research is focused on issues of ethnicity and nationalism, nation and state building, EU integration and state restructuring, and globalisation. Currently, she is working on a book provisionally entitled The Basque City.
