Induction week
The School of Arts & Humanities Induction Week will take place in the first week of term, 24-28 September 2012.
There is no teaching this week (classes start the following week), but instead there will be a number of events designed to ease you into your time at King's.
Please note that if you have elected to take modules outside of the School of Arts & Humanities or are a joint honours student with a department outside of the School classes may begin this week. You should contact the relevant department for confirmation.
See below for further information relevant to your level of study.
It is very important that you attend all induction sessions relevant to your programme of study, as you will receive important information to get you started at King's.
Undergraduate
In the course of the week you will meet members of our teaching staff, your personal tutors, and fellow students. You will receive information about academic and student life in the department and beyond and ask us any questions you may have about studying at King's (we may not have all the answers, but we can advise you where to look for them!) Some other induction events include careers talks, library tours and, of course, a party! You will be expected to attend all the events as they will be very helpful for settling into King’s.
For 1st year joint honours students ('and' programmes)
All joint honours students with French, German, Hispanic Studies or Portuguese & Brazilian Studies should attend the college session for Languages on Tuesday 25 September at 10.00 in Edmond J Safra lecture theatre and both their departmental induction sessions. Please check the induction webpage for information relating to induction in your other department.

Postgraduate
The induction is designed to give practical help to those beginning graduate work. You will be expected to attend all events as they will be very helpful for settling into King’s. We intend to provide an all-round introduction to the Department, to resources for graduate study, and to the character of work as a postgraduate student.

KEATS drop-in sessions
The College has invested in a brand-new e-learning platform, known as KEATS, for the 2012-13 academic year. Your tutors will make course material (handouts, readings) available online via this system. You will also use KEATS to submit all of your assessed coursework.
Your library induction will give you a short introduction to KEATS. However, if you feel you may require more help in getting to grips with the system, we are also running some drop-in sessions, which you can sign up for by following the links below.
