McCaul Scholarship
One scholarship of £600 to be awarded annually by the Department of Theology & Religious Studies to continuing graduate students (i.e. current part time MA students, or current full or part time research MPhil/PhD students) of excellent academic calibre registered in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies, whose degree course involves significant study of Hebrew and/or the Old Testament or related literature.
The friends and former pupils of the Reverend Alexander McCaul, DD, presented money to the College for the purpose of funding Prizes which should bear his name.
The Scholarship will be awarded after open competition and is awarded for one year. The holder may apply for a second year only, and the application will be considered alongside any other new applications.
Application Procedure
All applicants must complete the application form, and all applications must be submitted electronically to trs@kcl.ac.uk by the deadline of 01 July of the current academic year. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that all relevant forms reach the Department of Theology and Religious Studies by the deadline.
Selection procedure
The Scholarship is awarded on the recommendation of the Head of Department of Theology and Religious Studies, in consultation with the Director of New Testament Studies and teachers in Old Testament Studies, at a meeting to be held as soon as practicable after the deadline. Candidates will be notified of the decision as soon as possible after the meeting. The decision will be final.
