International & Study Abroad

Study Abroad & Summer School

The Department of Theology & Religious Studies has vibrant links to universities in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America. Each year numerous international students decide to take modules in the Department, and a significant number of King's students are studying abroad.

International students
The Study Abroad Programme

The Department welcomes undergraduate students from around the world via our Study Abroad scheme, through which you can choose to spend up to a year studying at King's College London as part of your degree programme elsewhere.

Incoming Study Abroad students can take any module offered by the Department. Typically Study Abroad students follow precisely the same patterns of study and assessment as the 'home' students registered on their undergraduate degrees at King's.

Prospective Study Abroad students should contact the Study Abroad office. The Department's Study Abroad co-ordinator is Dr Andrea Schatz, who welcomes queries from applicants wanting to know more about the Departmental provisions for International students.

Summer School

The Department is also well-represented at the College's Summer School, a high quality and intensive academic programme open to students from around the world, offering university-level summer courses which use a fresh approach to the study of traditional academic subjects.

Further information can be found on the Summer School website.

Current students

If you are currently studying in the Department in your first or second year, and are interested in studying abroad in your second year (one or two terms) or third year (one term), you may consider one of the following destinations:

TRS students are currently studying at UNC-Chapel HIll and at the University of Toronto. If you would like to read more about their experience, please visit the Worldwide page.

To learn more about the application process and funding, please visit the Study Abroad Office and attend their briefings in November.

Dr Andrea Schatz, the Department's Study Abroad co-ordinator, will be happy to offer information about our partner universities, discuss academic and practical matters, and help you contact current students abroad.

The deadline for application to study abroad in 2013/14 is expected to be Monday 3 December 2012. This will be confirmed in October 2012.

You are welcome to contact Dr Andrea Schatz, the Department's Study Abroad co-ordinator.

If you have just arrived at King's as an international student and are taking modules in the Department, you will find important information in My Handbook.
