King's & UWC Undergraduate Scholarships

The Schools of Arts & Humanities and Social Sciences & Public Policy at King’s College London and UWC offers a scholarship scheme to facilitate full-time undergraduate study at King’s for three UWC alumni each year.

With this scheme, King’s supports and endorses the ethos of UWC: to make education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future and to deliver a challenging and transformational educational experience.  King’s values the impact that UWC students have on the King’s student body at both an academic and community level and strives to educate its students to become global citizens.

One full bursary as well as two tuition fee waiver bursaries will be available annually for UWC students who have firmly accepted their King’s admissions offer.  The bursaries are open to overseas, home and EU students.

To be eligible, applicants:
  • must have graduated from UWC no more than 12 months prior to applying for the scholarship.
  • Apply for admission through UCAS by the January deadline for a full-time undergraduate degree programme in the School of Arts & Humanities or Social Science & Public Policy at King’s and firmly accept their King’s offer.

Selection Criteria

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need and academic merit.

Value & Duration

Full bursary:

The bursary will consist of a full tuition fee waiver in addition to a maintenance grant for the duration of the student’s programme of study.   Annual renewal of the bursary is subject to good academic progress by the student.

Tuition fee bursaries:

Two further UWC students will receive full tuition fee waivers, regardless of their fee status. Annual renewal of the fee bursary is subject to good academic progress by the student.

Terms & Conditions

Applicants should familiarise themselves with the UWC Scholarship Applicant Guidelines to ensure they meet the application criteria and understand the parameters for the continuing receipt of the scholarships for the duration of studies.

Application Procedure

You must apply for admission to King’s through UCAS to be eligible to apply for a scholarship.

If King’s makes you a conditional or unconditional offer to study, you will be invited to apply for a scholarship in January 2013, and to supply additional financial information to show eligibility.  Applications for scholarships have to be complete with a valid UCAS application number and submitted by the deadline to be considered for funding.

The deadline for applications to be received is Monday 1 April 2013.

Selection Procedure

From all UWC graduate applications to programmes in the Arts & Humanities and Social Sciences received, King’s will select the academically most promising candidate to be offered the full scholarship, and will choose two runners up to be offered tuition fee waivers, subject to fulfilling the conditions of their offer of admission.

Notification of Results

King’s will contact all scholarship applicants with the outcome by May 2013.
