Arts & Humanities Medieval Studies Scholarship

The School of Arts and Humanities is pleased to offer 3 scholarships to the value of £6,000 each to students studying for a Masters degree in one of the following:
  • MA Medieval Studies
  • MA Ancient History
  • MA Medieval History
  • MA Medieval English
  • MA Late Antique and Byzantine Studies
The Scholarships have been created to celebrate the strength of the MA programmes in Classical, Late Antique & Medieval Studies at King’s College London. This is reflected in the breadth and quality of the academic staff, who work with one of the largest and liveliest postgraduate communities in these fields in the UK, supported by the activities of the Centre for Late Antique & Medieval Studies.
 
The studentships are open to all students who have made an admissions application before 17:00GMT on 15 June 2011, though students who have already been selected for an AHRC award will not be eligible. The awards are tenable for one year only and cannot be deferred. The awards are open to students of any nationality.
 
All admissions applications supported by 2 academic references and undergraduate transcript submitted before 17:00GMT on 15 June 2011 will automatically be considered for this scholarship.

Am I eligible?

You are eligible for the award if:
  • you have submitted an admissions application supported by 2 academic references and undergraduate transcript before 17:00GMT on 15 June 2011 to one of the following: MA Medieval Studies; MA Ancient History; MA Medieval History; MA Medieval English; MA Late Antique and Byzantine Studies;
  • you are planning to commence a postgraduate taught masters degree in one of the abovementioned programmes at King’s College London for the 2011-12 academic session;
  • you are expected to meet the College’s usual requirements regarding language proficiency and the quality of the first degree (namely a minimum of a 2:1 – upper second class – degree)
  • you will not be in receipt of an AHRC scholarship concurrently
