Forensic Science
King’s College London has had an active, dedicated forensic science research programme since 1978. Throughout this period, we have worked closely with forensic science practitioners to ensure that our research is focused on addressing their fundamental questions and most important needs.
Forensic Science has a long history of training both police and civilian forensic science practitioners, and in 1985 this expanded to form our MSc in Forensic Science, the first postgraduate course in this discipline to be established in England.
This programme has been developed, and is delivered, with significant input from forensic science practitioners to ensure that its graduates are well equipped with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to enter and contribute to the profession. Research within Forensic Science has delivered impact in the field of forensic science, from the discovery of the structure of DNA to the present day.
