Diploma in Aviation Medicine
Director: Professor David Gradwell
The King’s programme for the Diploma in Aviation Medicine is the only one currently approved by the Faculty of Occupational Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians. The six month full-time programme begins in January each year.
The programme aims to provide medical practitioners with comprehensive instruction in advanced aviation medicine and to preparing them for the DAvMed examination. Tuition is by lectures, seminars, tutorials and by practical experience, as well as by visits to a wide range of military and civilian establishments. The depth of teaching and the wide variety of practical experience is recognised internationally as being unique, with graduates of the course filling regulatory, research and teaching positions at the very highest levels in civilian and military organisations throughout the world.
The Diploma in Aviation Medicine is awarded by the Faculty of Occupational Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians (London) following success in the faculty examination, which is held in June/July each year.
