Scientists in Sport
King’s College London is working in partnership with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) to launch a nationwide schools outreach programme entitled ‘Scientists in Sport’.
King’s and GSK are working in partnership for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, during which our world-renowned Drug Control Centre will operate a World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) accredited satellite laboratory.
The ‘Scientists in Sport’ programme comprises a series of free events running between now and the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012. These events offer local school children the opportunity to experience a day at a university and through a series of sports based lectures and interactive workshops aims to encourage 11-14 year old students to take their science studies further and consider a career in science. To express an interest in attending one of these events, please visit the Scientists in Sport website.
