Allocation of a place
Places in residence are allocated by random computer ballot, taking into consideration a number of different criteria including each candidate’s residence preferences. Due to the nature of the allocation process, no guarantee of a place at a specific residence or type of residence/room may be given.
Successful applicants will generally receive one offer of a place in residence and will be notified of their offer of accommodation by email.
Applicants who decline their offer of accommodation may request that their application is reconsidered, but will have lower priority than those who are yet to receive an offer of a place in residence. For further information on the allocation policy please refer to the My Accommodation - Entry 2012 (pdf, 1.57Mb) or My Accommodation - Entry 2013 (pdf, 1.81Mb) brochures, as appropriate.
Your contact details
It is important that intending applicants provide King’s College London with a valid email and postal address.
Prior to the start of the academic year all correspondence will be sent by email to the address provided. During the academic session all correspondence will be sent to the applicant’s King's College London email address.
Your contact details are stored on the College student record system; applicants should ensure that these contact details are correct. Applicants who have applied through UCAS must update their contact details, including their email address via their UCAS Track account as Admissions Offices and Accommodation Services are unable to amend these details on behalf of applicants. The amended information will automatically be communicated to the College system.
After registration at the College, students will be responsible for updating their details via OneSpace, the College portal for students
Please note that if you have used a school email address on your application you should check with your school that the email account will still be active until September. If it will not be you should provide an alternative email address, following the instructions above.
If you are going to be away at the time that accommodation offers are made you should ensure that someone is able to access your email account on your behalf. Please note that Accommodation Offers are usually made to new Postgraduate and Study Abroad/Exchange students from July and to new Undergraduates from A level result publication and all allocations continue to start of session.
