The Accommodation Application for applicants and returning students for consideration for accommodation from September 2012 is now live.

Please note that

  1. Moonraker Point will not be available until September 2012; consequently, if selected for Mid-session 2011-12 session or Summer Extended 2012, this preference will be ignored in allocations.
  2. King's College Hall will not be available from 23 June 2012; consequently, if selected for Summer Extended 2012 or any of the 2012-13 entry application periods, this preference will be ignored in allocations.
  3. Liberty House applications will be considered by Liberty Living and not King’s College London for 2012 entry; consequently, if selected for Summer Extended 2012 or any of the 2012-13 entry application periods, this preference will be ignored in allocations. If you are interested in place at Liberty House you should refer to the information on our webpages and contact Liberty Living directly.

2011 Intercollegiate Halls Waiting List

Before 8 September 2011 places at the Intercollegiate Hall for King's students are allocated on a quota system. Between 00:01 and 13:00 BST on 8 September applications were accepted to a centralised waiting list for the Intercollegiate Halls Accommodation Bureau to allocate any unfilled places. After this date their waiting list reopens on 16 September when direct applications may be submitted to InHAB although they will not be considered until after applicants who applied on the 08 September waiting list.

 

King’s Residences Mid Session Applications

Residence Agreements of 40 weeks duration begin on 17th September 2011. Some rooms  may  become available  if  students withdraw from their course/ the College,  request  termination of  their  residence agreement or do not arrive to the residence. These places are then offered to those who send in a mid-session application  according to College priorities .

Mid session applications will be available from mid September 2011, however will not be considered until 5th October 2011; until this date, the 2011 New Postgraduate, 2011 New Undergraduate applications will continue to be considered. To make a mid-session application please go to the Online Application Facility from mid September onwards to complete an application form.

 

Notification of Offers

New Postgraduate: allocations to new postgraduates will begin week commencing 18 July 2011; applicants will be notified via email and should regularly check email accounts as allocations continue to start of session in September. Priority for places in residence will be given to new international and European applicants who have never lived or studied in the UK before. Unsuccessful applicants for College/University accommodation will be notified accordingly and are encouraged to seek alternative accommodation in the Private Rented Sector and to attend one of the Private Rented Sector/Find a House mate events during August and September. Details of which will be provided in the Private Rented Sector page.

 

New Study Abroad & Exchange applicants: allocations to new Study Abroad & Exchange applicants will begin week commencing 25 July 2011; applicants will be notified via email and should regularly check email accounts as allocations continue to start of session in September. Priority for places in residence will be given to applicants from outside EU partner institutions; therefore, applicants applying from partner university within the EU are unlikely to be considered prior to the start of session and are encouraged to seek alternative accommodation in the Private Rented Sector and to attend one of the Private Rented Sector/Find a House mate events during August and September. Details of which will be provided in the Private Rented Sector page.

 

New undergraduate applicants: allocations to new undergraduate applicants will begin on Thursday 18 August immediately following publication of A-level release; applicants will be notified via email and should regularly check email accounts as allocations continue to start of session in September. Priority for places in residence will be given to applicants who are new to HE, applied by 30 June and have a home address outside the M25. Applicants who have attended university in the UK before and/or have a home address inside the M25 are therefore, unlikely to be considered prior to the start of session and are encouraged to seek alternative accommodation in the Private Rented Sector and to attend one of the Private Rented Sector/Find a House mate events during August and September. Details of which will be provided in the Private Rented Sector page.

 

Post Accommodation offer – Tours of King’s Residences

Tours of the Residences are held for those applicants who are holding an accommodation offer for a King’s residence; this provides an opportunity to visit the residence to which you have been allocated, in advance of the 17 September.  Dates and times:

 

Thursday 25th August at 3pm

and

Wednesday 31st August at 11am

 

Please ring the respective residence in advance to book your place on tours - so that a rough guide to numbers can be established.

 

Please note that the Residences will be busy at this time and you are advised therefore, not to bring paperwork with your for completion at the Residence on these days.

 

Swapping Accommodation with another King's student

Please note that it is not permitted for applicants to swap offers of accommodation. It is however, permissible to swap rooms after arrival at the Residence (following 7 nights – see Swap Form for procedure). Room Swaps are not permitted at/with an Intercollegiate place until mid-October. Refer to the procedure in My residence (Regulation 3 on page 25). Accommodation Services are not able to arrange direct swaps on a resident’s behalf.
