At King’s Careers & Employability we are committed to promoting equality of access and work to uphold the College’s principles of diversity and inclusion ensuring that our services are accessible to all regardless of protected characteristics or personal circumstances.
Working with other departments, we provide a range of service including:
- collaboration with the College’s Diversity & Inclusion and Disability Advisory Service enabling cross-referrals where required.
- close links with organisations championing disability, LGBT+ and BAME opportunities to ensure relevant jobs and events are advertised on King’s CareerConnect.
- up-to-date advice on recruitment processes, disclosure, reasonable adjustments and other disability and diversity issues.
- bespoke diversity resources for students online and within our Careers Centre at the Strand campus.

Disability Advisory Service appointments
If you have careers-related questions on any diversity and inclusion issues in the recruitment process or workplace you can discuss these in confidence with a Careers Consultant by booking a careers guidance appointment.
For non-careers related concerns about disability, the College's Disability Advisory Service offer one-to-one appointments in person, by phone or via Skype.
We advertise a number of events focussing on various aspects of diversity and inclusion run by employers and external organisations. The full details can be found on our King's CareerConnect events calendar.
King's Careers & Employability resources
Our Information specialists produce a variety of guides for students and alumni on diversity and inclusion available in hard copy within our Careers Resource Centre at the Strand campus and online. They can be produced in other formats on request.
Reach - Supporting students facing barriers to employment
is an online careers library which hosts a range of careers resources. By using selected tags, you can bring up a host of information relating to the sector or area you're interested in. Use search tags such as 'Diversity' or 'Equal Opportunities' to get started, or more specific tags such as 'Ethnic Minority', 'LGBT', 'Age' and 'Disability' to bring up resources relevant to you.
is an online community with input from members of King's Careers and Employability, designed for University of London students who feel they face barriers to reaching their potential in employment. Reach includes event listings, details of useful resources and a blog with relevant news.
Charity Stonewall has a dedicated resource for and provides support for LGBT+ students and alumni who may need help and advice when entering the workplace. They also run a range of events and produce the Starting Out Careers Guide for graduates showcasing the most LGBT-friendly employers in the UK, which is available to read at both our Strand and Guy's campus'.
