Examination information for candidates

Examination candidates should read the 'Examination Information for Candidates 2016-17' document prior to examinations. 

By submitting an examination script candidates are deemed to have read, understood and agreed to these rules. Please follow all instructions unless specifically told to do otherwise.

Olympia London

Please ensure that you read the information regarding Olympia London in the 'Examination Venues' section of the 'Examination Information for Candidates 2016-7' document above. Location within Olympia London:

Please note that examinations will take place on Level 2 and Level 3 of the Olympia Central building. The entrance to this building is located between Gates F and D (on Hammersmith Road) featured on the Venue Map below:

Transport Information

Olympia London can be accessed in a variety of ways:

A)     Kensington (Olympia) rail station (located next to the venue) is served by London Overground and National Rail networks.

B)    A number of London Underground stations are located a short walk away from Olympia including:West Kensington, High Street Kensington, Earl’s Court, Baron’s Court and Hammersmith stations - please see the TFL link below for detailed line info.

C)    A number of bus stops are also located a short walk away.You may wish to consider one of these routes as Overground trains to Kensington (Olympia) station can be busy and infrequent.

Olympia London Bag Search Policy

Olympia London security are now required to perform full bag searches upon entering the building. Please be aware that this may cause some delays entering the building, so please do allow time for this when travelling to the venue.

We would strongly urge you to limit your possessions and try not to bring bags if at all possible. If required, please use clear plastic bags for any of belongings you do decide to bring.  Bag/coat drops will be present in each examination zone for belongings to be left during examinations (as in previous examination periods). 

Examination Colour Zones

To help you find your seat, each level has been split into colour zones. Please ensure that you check which colour zone your desk is located in and which level your zone is on, prior to entering the venue:

Green Zone          Desks 1 - 405

Purple Zone          Desks 406 - 840

Yellow Zone          Desks 841 - 1300 

Level 3  Examination Colour Zones (click here for plan)

Blue Zone             Desks 1400 - 1780

Pink Zone              Desks 1781 - 1926 

Before the Examination

Upon entering the building all students will be asked to make their way straight up to the Level 3 foyer area. Seating plans are located on Level 3, as well as a ‘Help Desk' should anyone have a question or believe themselves to be unregistered (please check seating plans displayed before raising this).

At approximately 9.30am (AM session) or 2pm (PM session), an announcement will be made calling anyone due to sit in a Level 2 Colour Zone (Green, Purple or Yellow) to make their way down the stairs from Level 3.Anyone sitting in a Level 3 Colour Zone (Blue or Pink) can make their way to the relevant zone.
