Booking for the July 2017 ceremonies will open in April and booking for the January 2018 ceremonies will open in mid-November.
Invitation to book
Eligible students will receive an email from the Ceremonies & Events Team inviting you to book in your place through Student Records. This email will be sent to both your King’s email and to any secondary email address that we hold for you.
Places for ceremonies are allocated as bookings are made, so in order to avoid any disappointment we advise booking your place as soon as possible. On the rare occasion, ceremonies become full prior to the closing date. If this is the case, an alternative ceremony date will be offered to you.
Once booking has opened, if you believe that you are eligible to attend and have not received an email invitation please check your Student Records to see if the Graduation tab has been made available to you.
If you cannot see the Graduation tab, are unable to access Student Records, or have any other issues with your booking, please contact the Ceremonies & Events team.
Students and their guests are strongly advised to book their place prior to committing to travel and/or accommodation plans. The Ceremonies & Events team cannot be held liable for any travel or accommodation booked.
Student places are free of charge, but you are required to book your place via Student Records to confirm your attendance.

Additional tickets - Barbican Graduation ceremonies
Guest ticket prices are currently £25 (including VAT) for adults and £12.50 (including VAT) for children under 12.
Barbican centre: Students can purchase up to three guest tickets, subject to availability, until the booking deadline.
Southwark Cathedral: Students can purchase up to two guest tickets, subject to availability, until the booking deadline.
Please do not use the 'special needs' section of the online booking form to request extra tickets - this is for details of students and guests with particular access requirements only. Requests for extra tickets in this section will not be considered.

Graduating in absentia
If you are unable to attend the first ceremony you are invited to, you are welcome to defer your place through Student Records and come to the following session of ceremonies. You are only permitted to defer once after which point, in fairness to future graduates, it will not be possible to include you in a ceremony.
If you don’t defer your invitation to book but later decide that you wish to attend the next session of ceremonies, it is your responsibility to make yourself aware of the deadline and to book your place. You will not be sent an invitation to book your place, as invitations are only sent to students who have previously selected to defer their place or are being invited for the first time.
If you wish to attend a future ceremony, and you did not opt to defer your invitation to book, please contact the Ceremonies & Events Team to arrange to book your place.
Confirmation of booking
If you do not want to attend your graduation ceremony you may opt to graduate in absentia.
Selecting to 'graduate in absentia' means that your name will be not be read out at the ceremony (only the names of those attending are read out). If you select this option you will not be able to attend a future ceremony.
You can choose to graduate in absentia via the booking system on Student Records.
Confirmation of your booking will be shown on your Student Records account in the Graduation tab and will also be emailed to you upon the successful completion of your booking, at the email address you provide for contact regarding graduation ceremonies.
Please ensure that any filters on your email account are set so that emails from us will not be rejected.
If you have not received a confirmation email from the Ceremonies & Events Team within in an hour of completing your booking please contact the office as soon as possible to check if your booking has gone through.
You will have the opportunity to amend your booking through the Graduation tab in Student Records, and once booking has closed you will still be able to view your booking details. If you need to amend your details after booking closes, please contact the Ceremonies & Events Team quoting your student number.
