The Compass desks

The Compass desks offer a 'one stop shop' support service for students, providing  information, advice, documentation and replacement ID cards. 

Drop-in sessions and appointments with specialist student advisors are also available, thus bringing services together for students in a central hub.  The Compass has desks on the Guys, Denmark Hill, Strand and Waterloo campuses.

The Compass Team

The Compass team is committed to supporting and enhancing the learning and living experience of King's students.

We promise to take ownership of the enquiry, making it hassle free for students.

Students can place requests remotely, or track the progress of enquiries using our virtual service desk, Compass Online.

The Student Advice team

Once you have accepted a firm offer at King's our experienced team of Student Advisers can advise you on a range of financial, practical and legal issues.

Our aim is to identify solutions and options to your problems in a free and confidential setting. We assist with the following and any other welfare issue:  

  • immigration law
  • student finance (student loans, tuition fees, grants etc)
  • social security benefits and tax credits
  • housing rights
  • consumer law
  • fee payment problems
  • money management (planning a budget)
  • dealing with debt
  • international student issues
  • financial support for student parents (childcare costs etc)
  • interrupting your studies, re-sitting, withdrawing or transferring
  • council tax

The team can give you comprehensive advice in confidence. Contact the Compass team to make an appointment.

Compass Online

The virtual service desk is available to all students with a King's login. You can use Compass Online to

  • Browse the FAQ databank
  • Request a letter / ID card or send us your enquiry
